Clinical Nurse (R/N) - Experienced - NICU(Ward 7)

The Professional Nurse/Clinical Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized, holistic nursing care for patients, families, or the community. This role coordinates patient care within a multi-disciplinary health team.

• Serve as a clinical resource in assisting personnel with nursing care.
• Ensure communication and interaction with family and health professionals.
• Assess, plan, and implement advanced nursing care according to standard procedures.
• Initiate, direct, and maintain emergency treatment as indicated.
• Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Evaluate patients' care needs and initiate individualized nursing care plans.
• Prepare shift documentation reflecting patient status.
• Provide input in formulating patient care policies and procedures.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Allocate staff optimally for nursing care.
• Maintain professional development and keep current with policies.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

• Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a NICU environment.
• Shift leading experience in NICU is an advantage.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practices.
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles.
